San Francisco Holiday Events: Time for some Ice Skating!

Head out to SF this holiday season and enjoy the cities “Most Wonderful time of the year!” Head to Union Square for some window shopping and take a glance at the famous tree. Then head down to the ice rink and let the kids and family have some fun. The temporary ice rink is only open for 9 weeks during the holidays. Be sure to bring the family out for a day of fun!

Tip of the Month: Male to male connectors, because we have to solve the female to female connection

What happens when you have spent so much time getting your Christmas lights setup on your tree and in your yard to realize when you get to the end of the string and get ready to plug it into the wall, you have a female adapter in your hands. Oh no! This happens to so many of us in the midst of us trying to create the perfect spacing and brightness for our once a year celebration, we forget about the simplest thing! But don’t worry, we have a safe and simple solution.

Best case scenario, is find an extension cord that is long enough to reach the exposed male prong connection. To do this, just retrace your string to the beginning. Connect the extension cord to the male connection, and presto, the lights are on! Even though you can make your own male to male snap-on connection and connect it the wall to draw the power, it is not a good idea and can be a fire hazard and safety concern. This is because there will be an exposed male prong, which once powered, becomes an electrical shock and fire hazard. Please give us a call or visit our nearby store in Menlo Park, Burlingame, or San Francisco and we can help find you the right cord to blend in with the tree and the adapters you need to get the job done.
